Twitter erupts after hot mic catches someone cursing as Paul Ryan walks away
A hot microphone caught someone at the end of the GOP leaders weekly briefing on Tuesday, saying that the event was a "waste of my f---ing time."
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan concluded the press conference after taking a question regarding President Trump's travel ban. He and other members of the Republican leadership were exiting the room when the phrase was heard on air.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill took to Twitter to accuse Ryan in a now-deleted tweet immediately after the moment was shared on YouTube.
Many agreed with Hammill:
That was Paul Ryan. Way to go!! You are a waste of our time!!

talking to reporters a waste of time? @SpeakerRyan you are #Americasshamehttps://t.co/3D9o9Lh9he

But Hammill deleted the tweet and apologized after Ryan's Chief Communications Advisor Brendon Buck clarified that it was not Ryan who made the remark.
.@BrendanBuck tells me that was not his boss. Will take his word for it and I apologized.

Others suggested that it was House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise:
@SteveScalise thinks it's "a waste of .... time"? Was that speech he gave for white supremacy group in 2002 also a waste ???

But the claims to the contrary have not stopped Twitter from accusing Ryan for the slip.
