Bible left untouched in wake of deadly tornado

After a fierce tornado tore through buildings and leveled homes in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, over the weekend, leaving at least four people dead, staff at William Carey University say they stumbled upon an awe-inspiring scene.

While workers at the private Christian school were combing through campus after the raging storm, they claim they happened upon an unharmed Bible inside the campus church, Bass Chapel.

The holy book was lying open on the pulpit, undisturbed by the surrounding debris, according to CNN.

Rick Wilemon, an art instructor at the college, shared photos of the Bible in the condition he found it in on Facebook.

Even eerier is the passage Wilemon claims the Bible was found opened to -- Psalm 46, which reads, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Whether the Bible was a sheer coincidence or was placed there on purpose, Wilemon says it has surely proved a sign of comfort for his community in such a troubling time.
