Elderly woman flies through tornado in bathtub, lands unharmed
As it turns out, heading to the bathtub is definitely a wise move to make if there's a tornado nearby.
Charlesetta Williams, a 75-year old woman from Texas, can confirm that.
According to KSLA, 130-mile-per-hour winds ripped through an area near the Texas-Louisiana border -- and Williams had the ride of her life.
She was in her tub when a tornado lifted her and her bathroom fixture into the air and threw her them into the woods.
She landed safely in the tub.
Jason Hansford, a meteorologist who spoke with Williams, told the Washington Post she took cover from the storm in her bathtub as soon as she heard the tornado warning.
"The only thing she remembers is that the tornado came in from the southwest across her home. At that point the whole backside of her house was sheared off," he said.
"Her bath tub was ripped out of her bathroom and she ended up still in her tub in some woods near her home."
Hansford added that she only suffered minor bruising and cuts, though she was emotionally shaken.
