Man who raised abducted teen is heartbroken he's not her biological father: 'It's a shock to me'

Charles Manigo, the man who raised 18-year-old Kamiyah Mobley since birth, is now dealing with the aftermath of finding out he is not her biological father.

Kamiyah Mobley, whose name was changed to Alexis Manigo, finally met her biological parents, Shanara Mobley and Craig Aiken, at a Walterboro, South Carolina, police station on Saturday after 18 years.

Alexis received the shocking news last week that the woman who she thought was her mom, Gloria Williams, allegedly posed as a nurse and abducted her from Jacksonville's University Medical Center on July 10, 1998, when she was just eight hours old.

Manigo said he previously dated Williams and said she lied to him as well, telling him that she had given birth to his baby while he was away.

"I named her -- a name I had for a year: Alexis Kelly," Manigo told ABC. "She was the love of my life. The person she called dad for 18 years isn't her dad."

Manigo and Williams raised Alexis from the time she was a newborn, sharing custody after they split up in 2003, according to reports.

"One of the hardest things she said on Friday was, 'Dad I love you,' even though she knows what's going on," Manigo said. "I talk to her every day," he said. "The attention is overwhelming to her. She's still processing everything. It's a shock to me, it's a bigger shock to her."

Although he claimed in the interview that he was a big part of her life, Alexis took to Facebook to say that he hasn't been there for her at all.

"He did nothing," the teen wrote. "He was not there when I moved to Georgia, never saw him... You were nothing to me my whole life."

Manigo said that even though he may not be her biological father, he will always be there for her.

"She's still my child," he said. "I understand what's going on, but she's still my child."

Manigo was identified earlier this week through a DNA test after two leads led police to South Carolina, where she was living with Williams, according to police.

Williams is charged with kidnapping and is awaiting extradition to Jacksonville.
