Trump: 'Only stupid people' don't want a good relationship with Russia

Updated

Donald Trump is still defending this election-hacking thing, and he's got some strong words for those who don't want the United States to strengthen its relationship with mother suspect Russia.

This morning, the president-elect again insisted that there is "absolutely no evidence that hacking affected the election results," reasoning that the voting machines themselves were "not touched." Instead, Trump tweeted, the Democrats are still stuck on the whole thing because their loss "was so big that they are totally embarrassed!"

Then he called anyone who doesn't want a good relationship with Russia "stupid people" and "fools."

"We have enough problems around the world without yet another one," the soon-to-be POTUS wrote. "When I am President, Russia will respect us far more than they do now and both countries will, perhaps, work together to solve some of the many great and pressing problems and issues of the WORLD!"

His Saturday series of tweets probably won't help change the minds of those who accuse Trump of being in Russian president Vladimir Putin's pocket.
