It's not unusual for drivers to forget where they parked their car, but a man in Manchester, U.K. had an unusually long ordeal.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the BMW he had borrowed from a friend to go to a concert has been found after six months.

Authorities corroborated his account, tweeting on December 30, "Officers have found a car in a multi-storey lost since June; driver visiting city parked it but couldn't remember where. Driver apparently spent 5 days searching car parks in the city before reporting as lost/stolen."

They then added, "We can't imagine what the ticket machine is going to say when they finally put the ticket in – £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££"

A dollar figure for the parking fees has reportedly been estimated at more than $6,000.

Despite the positive outcome, several Twitter users expressed concern about the potential safety implications, with one person writing, "It is mildly disturbing that with the current security situation, an unattended vehicle wasn't noticed for so long."
