Many eyes this week were focused on the Middle East, especially the Syrian city of Aleppo, as the ongoing civil war seemingly came to a head and evacuations from the area were halted.

Elsewhere, we saw the aftermath of a suicide bombing in Turkey which took the lives of 38 people, and an attack on an Egyptian cathedral that killed at least 25.

Stateside, President-elect Donald Trump continued to have many visitors at his office in New York -- including rapper Kanye West -- as he fills in the vacant spots for his administration.
