BACK TO SLIDE

Many eyes this week were focused on the Middle East, especially the Syrian city of Aleppo, as the ongoing civil war seemingly came to a head and evacuations from the area were halted.

Elsewhere, we saw the aftermath of a suicide bombing in Turkey which took the lives of 38 people, and an attack on an Egyptian cathedral that killed at least 25.

Stateside, President-elect Donald Trump continued to have many visitors at his office in New York -- including rapper Kanye West -- as he fills in the vacant spots for his administration.

Click through the slideshow above for photos from all of these events and more, and be sure to check back next weekend for our selection of the best photography from the coming days.
