Misspelled road sign leaves community outraged

A California road crew made a high-profile mistake this week when they misspelled the word "STOP."

The 6-foot letters on a Chino Hills street, instead spelled, "STPO" and 11-year-old named Matthew has been credited with spotting the typo.

Thankfully, the error turned out to be as short-lived as it was glaring.

A spokesperson for the city of Chino Hills told InsideEdition.com that a crew that contracts with the city made the mistake at the end of their work day on Tuesday.

By Wednesday morning, it had already been fixed.

And, according to the spokesperson, the mistake wasn't even around long enough to cause more than a slight stir on social media.

Thankfully, the stop sign posted at the intersection was always spelled correctly.
