A 12-year-old Upstate New York boy is dead after he was buried under a heavy layer of snow.
A local television station reports the unnamed boy was building a snow fort with his friend on Tuesday in Greenwich where a public works truck was plowing the area.
After the truck had plowed the area where the boys were last seen, police received a 911 call for two missing 12-year-olds.

A K-9 found a sled near a large mound of snow and rescue crews began to dig.
After being pulled from the snow pile, first responders attempted, but failed to resuscitate one of the boys. According to police, he was pronounced dead at Saratoga Hospital.
The TV station reports the other boy survived and told investigators he heard what he described as the sound of machinery before the incident.
It is not yet clear if the fort collapsed on the two boys or if the plow buried the boys under the snow.
