20 co-workers in Tennessee to split $420M Powerball jackpot

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WGHP) -- A group of 20 co-workers will split the massive $420.9 million Powerball jackpot.

The winners, who are from 13 different cities in Tennessee and Kentucky, all work together at North American Stamping Group in Portland, Tennessee, according to the Tennesseean.

NASG employee and Powerball co-winner Steven Huffman says he and 20 co-workers entered an office pool over the weekend.

The cash value of the jackpot is worth $254 million, which would give each person $12.7 million before taxes.

"You never think you're going to win this lottery, but you do it for fun," said co-winner Amy O'Neal.

The self-dubbed "Tennessee 20" has been playing the lottery for eight years. O'Neal said the group buys $120 worth of tickets every Wednesday and Saturday to support education and the state of Tennessee.

"All these people have always had a heart to help people and be there for people, and we can do that if we don't have any money," said a tearful Huffman. "Now we can do more and help more. There's going to be a lot of people blessed."

The winners said they would either stay at work or stay long enough to train replacement workers.
