Why does Facebook think we are all dead?

Updated

They say Facebook helps you live longer, but now, we're not so sure.

Today, when multiple AOL.com editors logged into their Facebook accounts, they all discovered the dismal truth: Much like Bruce Willis at the end of The Sixth Sense, they've actually been dead the whole time.

Their deaths were conveniently announced at the top of their Facebook profiles, accompanied by a lovely blue remeberance flower, for the entire world to see.

Gone too soon.

Forever in our hearts.

Didn't deserve to go out like this.

#RIP

Legends never die.

Sending thoughts and prayers.

Heaven gained another angel.

Since they're all sitting here in the office, very much alive, our editors are obviously aware that this is just a technical glitch.

But still, you have to admit -- it's a little bit spooky to log in to your social media accounts and read about your own untimely demise.

Naturally, people have already begun sharing photos of the creepy error on Twitter.

See people react to news of their own "death" on Twitter:

AOL.com was going to reach out to Facebook for comment, but seeing as The Zuck himself has also kicked the bucket, we figured they might have bigger things to deal with at the moment.
