The 2016 United States presidential election, which the country has been focused on for over a year now, has come and gone. After a hard-fought campaign and a close vote, Republican candidate Donald Trump became president-elect over opponent Hillary Clinton.
After the vote, thousands turned out across the country to protest Trump's election. The president-elect, meanwhile, visited the White House to meet with President Obama to discuss the role and the upcoming transition.
