ISIS thrilled at anti-Trump protests, says 'US is breaking apart'

The sight of Americans protesting in the streets after Tuesday's election for a second day has thrilled supporters of the Islamic State, who see it as an unraveling of the stability of American democracy.

"America is breaking apart," ISIS fans remarked on forums and social media channels affiliated with the terror group. Vocativ found that many ISIS supporters celebrated the mass protests that broke out following the results early Wednesday morning, convinced that Donald Trump's anti-Islamic positions would alienate and anger people and rally more followers to their cause.

As protesters filled the streets across the country, dozens of posts on ISIS forums celebrated, saying "America is on fire," and shared images and videos filmed at demonstrations in New York, Portland and Berkeley.

One commenter using the name Bin Omar hoped "the Muslims here will see how dangerous it is to live with the infidels. I think that the Muslims will soon immigrate from there." A thread on an ISIS forum titled: "Has the U.S started breaking apart?" shared news from anti-Trump protests, and called others to follow the hashtag #Calexit where some Americans pushed for California's secession from the United States. "This is the harvest of democracy," gloated one user.

Many others shared a "prayer" that Americans "will occupy themselves with themselves instead of with Muslims and the Caliphate State," and hoped the riots "will expedite the destruction of America, the enemy of Muslims." On Twitter, a pro-ISIS user shared video from the protests and claimed that "everyone who joined a coalition against the Caliphate" is witnessing instability and economic destruction.
