Talk about giving a whole new meaning to the term gold digger. According to the BBC, a Chinese woman has worked her charm to astronomical levels by convincing her 20 boyfriends to buy her 20 iPhone 7s, which she then sold to put a down payment on her new house.

A Chinese blogger using the pseudonym Proud Qiaoba shared the story on the Tian Ya Yi Du forum about her friend Xiaoli (also a pseudonym), who sold the new phones for a total 120,000 Chinese yuan or about $18,000 to a tech resale company.

The BBC didn't confirm if the story was true, but did confirm that the resale company Hui Shou Bao bought 20 new iPhones 7s from a woman in early October.

The tech resale company recently posted a job notice for "event marketing personnel" on a Chinese hiring website and one requirement says applicants need to be "passionate about producing internet events" and familiar with "methods of media manipulation."

A hashtag that translates as '20 mobiles for a house' began to circulate and is the number one trending topic on Weibo, a Chinese social platform comparable to Facebook.
