Toddler killed after being hit by pickup truck driven by relative and dragged 20 feet: Reports

A 2-year-old Louisiana girl was killed when she was hit by a vehicle and dragged 20 feet at a Pennsylvania mobile home park, authorities said.

Little Shelby Folse, of Houma, and her family were living at the Harvest Moon Trailer Court in Woodward Township for her father's job when a relative driving a pickup truck struck the toddler at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, PennLive.com reported.

Stephen Folse, 21, also of Houma, was leaving a parking space when the truck's undercarriage struck the little girl and carried her about 20 feet, state police told the news website.

Due to the height of the truck, Folse — who authorities said is not Shelby's father — was unaware of the child's location, according to reports.

Shelby's loved ones were devastated by the tragedy.

"She is everything to me," her mother, Ashley Folse, posted on Facebook. "A piece of my soul is missing. RIP my angel princess."

A GoFundMe page set up to offset expenses of flying Shelby's body back to Louisiana and to bury her was created by a family friend.

Calling the loss of Shelby a "tragic accident," family friend Samantha Dufrene wrote the Folses "are people who will help anyone in any way they can."

As of Monday, the page had raised $1,550 of is $3,500 goal.
