Mom allegedly finds deep-fried marijuana in Wendy's french fries
An Ohio mom claims to have found the worst-possible surprise in her 4-year-old daughter's french fries.
Dezeray Risner wrote in a Facebook post (which has since been deleted) that she discovered marijuana in the meal from Wendy's when the child said it "tasted funny and were 'yucky.'"
"So I told her to spit it in my hand, (and) I just kind of reached my arm back,"Risner told FOX 25.
"She did and when I looked at it, you could see it. It was chewed up with the French fries. There was the weed in there, the wrap that it goes in or whatever. I freaked out."
Risner said in her post that she called the restaurant and a manager told her that no one in the store had marijuana.
She then reported the incident to the police.
An officer investigated -- and when he looked in the bag, he saw the leafy substance mixed with the fries and said he could smell marijuana.
He then went to the restaurant location and spoke to the manager and employees. Two employees admitted to smoking the drug, but no weed was found in the restaurant after a search.
Risner told PIX11 she thinks the drugs came from a joint that someone smoked or rolled near the area where the fries were prepared.
"It was someone's personal blunt, likely stuffed near or on their persons and dropped into my daughters food," Risner told PIX11.
"The fries were not 'laced,' sprinkled with weed, or deep-fried with weed.
One day after Risner posted photos of the meal to Facebook, Wendy's issued a statement in response.
"Please know all of our customers as well as the quality and integrity of our food are a top priority at Wendy's and we are taking this very seriously," the statement said.
