Dangerous surprise found by TSA in checked bag
By: Josh King
The guidelines for what you can and can't bring on a plane seem pretty simple, but that doesn't stop people from trying to stretch or outright break the rules.
One passenger at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston recently checked a bag with what looks like a bunch of play dough.
But underneath the mess of modeling clay and duct tape was a loaded 9-millimeter handgun inside of a computer.
The TSA posted the photo to its official Instagram account and wrote that firearms are actually allowed in checked bags as long as they are declared, unloaded and properly packed.
The TSA Instagram account shows that a lot of people have tried to bring loaded guns and other strange items on planes-- like a throwing knife necklace and even a tomahawk.
The agency documents its findings using the hashtag #TSAgoodcatch.
