Giuliani falsely accuses Clinton of claiming to be in New York on 9/11

Donald Trump surrogate and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said that Hillary Clinton shouldn't be a part of the 9/11 "never forget" group because she wasn't in New York on September 11.

"But I heard her say one day that she was there that day. I was there that day. I don't remember seeing Hillary Clinton there," Giuliani said at a Trump rally in Ocala, Florida, after acknowledging that she helped to get benefits for people injured from the attacks.

Clinton always has publicly claimed she was in Washington, D.C. — another attack site — on that day. The Senate was supposed to be in session on Sept. 11, and Clinton attended a briefing on the attacks that day and later joined other lawmakers in singing "God Bless America" on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.

Clinton was in New York at the site of the devastation the next day, appearing with Giuliani.
