Family: 1-year-old in the ICU after being hit by car during neighborhood dispute
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) -- A 1-year-old is still recovering at the hospital after she and several other children were hit by a car following a fight.
According to police, three children and a pregnant woman were all injured.
One of those children, 1-year-old Markel Franklin was released from the hospital.
"They said he's good. He just got to -- he can't do no running and jumping and playing, but he's doing fine," said Ketta Franklin.
Unfortunately, his 1-year-old niece Rekevia Stephens' condition has gotten worse.
"She just was bleeding over her right lung and they gave her a blood transfusion to build her blood back up."
The baby girl is in intensive care after police said a car slammed into her and a large crowd of people Saturday.
In total, two toddlers, an 11-year-old girl and a 5-month pregnant woman were hurt.
Rekevia is the last victim still in the hospital.
"We're trying to take it and we're praying everyday for her until she comes home."
Doctors said she has a long way to go.
The 1-year-old is in a body cast and suffering from a broken hip, a cracked skull and scrapes along the right side of her body.
"We just need prayers to go out and help my grand baby come home. Just pray for her and keep her up."
The woman driving the car fled the scene.
"These babies was one years old and they was innocent. They didn't have nothing to do with what was going on. She could have avoided all that."
