CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WTTV) – Officers with the Carroll County Sheriff's Department were called to a woman's home after an unusual guest wandered into her yard.

Deputies responded to the call around 11:30 p.m. Monday.

According to officers, a woman's dog was barking outside. When she went to see what the commotion was, she found a kangaroo in her yard and called police.

Deputies say the kangaroo is a neighbor's pet that had gotten loose. Officers helped rescue the animal and return him to his owner.
