Ahmad Khan Rahami, NY area bombings suspect, taken into custody after shootout

Ahmad Khan Rahami, the 28-year-old man wanted in connection with bombings in New York and New Jersey this weekend, has been taken into custody following a shoot out with police, local media reported on Monday.

NBC New York reported he was caught "after shooting [a] police officer in Linden," citing local law enforcement sources.

The suspect was allegedly captured in Linden, New Jersey, after reports of an active shooter emerged on social media.

A photo tweeted from the scene of the alleged active shooter situation appeared to show a man in police custody who was laying on the ground and alive.

It remains unclear if there are further suspects police may be hunting for in connection to the violent attacks that left dozens injured this weekend.
