A photo 89-year-old popsicle vendor hunched over a cart has gone viral, and kind donors have started a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign to support him.

Fidencio Sánchez sells paletas in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood.

The GoFundMe in his honor took off, and he raised more than $140,000.

Donors were raising money for his retirement, but according to the local Univision affiliate in Chicago. he says that is more than enough.

"I'm going to give part of it to the church here, part of it to the church in my native land, some of it will go to my grandchildren, and certain people that I see have a need," he said.

Joel Cervantes Macias, the guy who started the GoFundMe campaign, told Univision that he wanted to share the picture to show how hard people work.

He explained on the GoFundMe page that Sanchez and his wife recently lost their only daughter and are still heartbroken about the situation.

His wife sold paletas also to help pay bills, but she got sick and can't work anymore.

Needless to say, they well-exceeded the $3,000 donation goal.
