An arsonist set fire to the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce, the mosque Pulse nightclub shooter, Omar Mateen, attended.

According to St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, video captured at the scene "shows an individual approached the east side of the building just moments before a flash is seen and the fire starts."

The Sheriff's Office is now investigating this as an arson.

Emergency responders received a call around 12:30am Monday morning. St. Lucie County Fire District responded and were able to put the fire out.

The fire broke out the day after 9/11 and during a Muslim holiday. Law enforcement said they haven't had to respond to a fire call at this location before. Back in June Mosque leaders told local news they had been receiving threats.
