Man mowing lawn makes gruesome discovery in wooded area
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (WDAF) -- Kansas City, Kan., officers are on the scene of a homicide Monday.
Tom Tomasic with the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department said that a city worker was mowing when the worker found a body in the woods near 46th and Leavenworth Road around 8:30 a.m.
Officer Tomasic said the body does not appear to have been in the woods for long.
"We would say overnight probably at the longest," officer Tomasic said. "But until we can get in there and investigate we won't know everything for sure."
Police describe the victim as a white male who appear to be in his 30s.
