Broadway dancer charged with murder of boyfriend after cryptic Facebook posts
MORRIS HEIGHTS, the Bronx (WPIX) — Broadway dancer Marcus Bellamy has been charged with murder after his apparent boyfriend was found dead in a Bronx apartment Friday.
Police discovered an unconscious and unresponsive 27-year-old man with head trauma when they arrived at the scene around 4:15 p.m. Friday on 174th Street.
The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Bellamy was taken into custody and charged with murder.
The same day that Bellamy allegedly killed the 27-year-old that the Daily News reported was his boyfriend, Bernardo Almonte, Bellamy wrote several cryptic Facebook statuses.
One is seemingly a confession, as Bellamy asks for forgiveness and says he committed the act "for love."
The Daily News reported that Bellamy told police Almonte was his boyfriend, but refused to say anything more.
Playbill.com said that Almonte was Bellamy's roommate.
Bellamy was the dance captain and a member of the ensemble in "Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark". He was also a replacement in the musical "Tarzan" and had small television and movie roles in "Smash", "Across the Universe" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
