The Farmer's Almanac is a go-to resource to an accurate weather prediction.

They are able to predict seasons through a method they describe on their site as a "secret formula" devised back in 1792 by the founder, Robert B. Thomas.

Thomas believed weather on earth was influenced by sunspots, which are magnetic storms on the surface of the sun.

Well now, The Farmer's Almanac is putting out its 200th edition. In it, the editors are announcing what they expect will happen during the winter of 2016 into 2017.

The rest of the country can expect a normal winter – cold, but not any more than usual.

Of course, there is a silver lining: these predictions are just predictions. They don't always hold up.

Last year, the Almanac didn't predict the warm weather brought on by the super El Niño event.
