Firefighters do more than just put out fires.

A squad in Sacramento, California recently saved the day when they rescued not one, not two, but eight kittens from a storm drain.

The fire department posted video to Twitter of the heroic feat.

The firefighters had to remove the grate cover, lower themselves into the drain, and pulled the kittens out one by one.

Their mother was on the sidelines, anxiously looking on as her kittens were being brought to light.

Fortunately, there was nothing for her to worry about. The firefighters managed to get all the kittens with no problems.

Though it remains unknown how the kittens fell down there in the first place, we're lucky to know that now, they're safe.

After the rescue, the department tweeted, "All is well."
