Man pulls over to help driver trapped in burning truck, rescues his own father
(WNEP) A man from Lycoming County recently stopped to help a driver trapped in a burning pickup. That driver turned out to be the man's own father. The family doesn't see the rescue as a coincidence... they see it as a blessing.
"So he just got me out through the window and onto the ground when the truck just exploded from the inside. It was just engulfed in flames," said Bruce Frymire.
90 year old Bruce Frymire of South Williamsport doesn't remember his truck hitting the tree or it catching on fire, but his son Ron heard the impact of the crash from down the road.
"I was on my way home and just momentarily I stopped just to check the creek out a fishing spot," said Ron Frymire.

Ron doesn't usually travel this road in Eldred Township near Montoursville, but this past Sunday he drove by the crash to make sure everyone was okay.
"As I was turning around I realized oh my God. I wonder if that's dad, and sure enough it was," said Ron.
Bruce was trapped inside the pickup truck and none of the doors would open. That's when Ron says he started to pray.
"I pounded on the window and by some miracle I give it all to Jesus the window fell out," said Ron.
Ron tried pulling his dad out.
"A wall of flames shot up between me and truck and forced me back," said Ron.
That's when Ron says he prayed again.
"The flames went down, and I was able to go back into the window. Father was able to push himself into the passenger compartment and extended cab," said Ron.
The paint has peeled off and the truck is totaled. As for Bruce, the family believes he fell asleep behind the wheel. He's now recovering from three broken ribs and second degree burns. But he doesn't feel lucky...
He feels blessed.
"Called on the Lord and he answered," said Bruce.
