Dog waits in dead owner's car wreckage for months before being rescued
Menino was the sole survivor of a car crash that killed his owner last September in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.
When no one came to claim him, crews cleaning up after the accident simply towed the car away to a storage yard with the pup still inside.
The Dodo reports the family of the dog's owner promised to pick him up but that never happened. So for, months he waited.
A temporary security guard noticed and took care of the pup, eventually taking him home.
He said if his rightful owners came, he'd give him up. But no one came.
Now, almost a year after Menino arrived at the storage yard, he has a new place to call home.
The guard says, "When I arrive home, he runs to find me, jumping at the gate."
Best friends forever.
