According to the BBC, Switzerland stopped selling high-end goods to the Asian nation after the regime's missile-related activities earlier this year resulted in tighter UN sanctions.

North Korea reportedly purchased 87 Swiss watches for a total of $11,140 in January through April 2016, but there were zero sales in May or June.

Kim who attended school in Switzerland, has been seen wearing the pricey timepieces in public, according to the BBC.

He is also known to gift them to high-ranking members to secure their loyalty.

In addition to watches, other luxury items that have been banned from North Korea in the recent embargo include cigars, wine, and caviar.
