Surveillance footage shows final moments before officer's disappearance

About 2 weeks ago, Mark McCullers, a police officer at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, went missing after floodwaters carried both him and his car away, reports KDAF.

Authorities have released a surveillance video and a 911 call that provide clarity about the events leading up to his disappearance.

During the call, McCullers tells the operator that waters are rising rapidly and he is in need of help, notes CBS News.

While his voice remains calm, the footage taken by a camera at a home nearby shows the escalating situation was actually quite dire.

Rescue crews were unable to reach him, and seven minutes after speaking with the 911 operator, McCullers' car was swept away.

The final image of the man captured on camera shows him attempting to exit the vehicle.

Authorities are still searching for McCullers.
