It's no surprise air travel can be brutal. Most people can't afford to upgrade out of coach, leaving travelers stuck in those miserable, dead air tin cans.

It's all worth it, because getting to wherever you're traveling is awesome! Now, the process of traveling itself can be equally as awesome.

The United Kingdom government has announced a plan to invest 13 million dollars into a company called Oxford Reaction Engines. The company is working on a plane that would allegedly be able to work in Earth's atmosphere as well as space.

The investment is added to the 80 million dollars that have already been put into the project.

The plan involves developing something called a "sabre engine," which stands for synergistic air-breathing rocket engine. It's unique because it does not require the craft to carry on-board oxygen for combustion after the engine is hitched to it.

The project has also received money from the United States Air Force, which will be used to press toward actual test trials of the engine.

Hopefully this works out, because currently trying to fall asleep in coach requires a yoga pose that very few travelers are actually flexible enough for.
