28 rescued baby bats given blankets and pacifiers

Bats get a bad rap. Though they're most frequently associated with Halloween-type spookiness, the little guys can actually be pretty cute!

Fortunately, 28 tiny bats were rescued from freezing conditions in Australia just in time after they fell out of a tree.

Cold Australian winters can be very hard on animals, and these bats were no exception: they had to be immediately treated by the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital for hypothermia.

These bats, known as Flying Foxes, usually head to warmer climates during the winter months.

It was all hands on deck as the hospital staff worked to nurse the bats back to health. They were wrapped in blankets and the result was a batch of adorable baby bat burritos.

They were also given electrolyte fluids to replace the nutrients they lost while out in the cold.

Not to mention, they were also given pacifiers, resulting in an explosion of cuteness.

The 28 bats are doing well and will eventually be released back into the wild.

For now, they're happy (and warm) right where they are.
