Good Samaritan stops babysitter from driving drunk with 4 children in car: Police
LONG ISLAND, N.Y. — A Good Samaritan is being credited with stopping a Long Island babysitter from driving while intoxicated with four boys in her care, police said Friday.
Sabrini Macri, 19, was watching four boys ranging from 4 to 11 years old when she was detained at the parking lot of Cedar Beach on Harbor Beach Road in Mount Sinai on Thursday, police said.
The Good Samaritan first spotted Macri appearing intoxicated and unable to locate her vehicle.
Once the teen found her 2015 black Honda Civic, the stranger used her own vehicle to block in the Honda and call police around 2 p.m., according to police.
Macri was then arrested and is expected to be charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with child passengers 15 years old or younger, four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
She is expected to be arraigned Friday.
