Apple's new patent allows them to disable your iPhone camera at will
Apple just patented technology that can disable the camera on your iPhone.
The patent says the tech will be used at places, like concert venues and sensitive sites where video and photography are prohibited.
The iPhone's photo functions can be disabled when the camera comes into contact with an infrared signal. This means the recording ability can be blocked when you point your phone camera at the stage. A message may appear on the screen of camera app when the camera is disabled, according to the patent.
The tech will also allow information to pop up on your screen when you point your camera at something, such as an exhibit at a museum.
However, the tech has already become a freedom of speech concern for times when a camera is important, like cases of police brutality.
