First, choose your container. You can use any jar or planter you have at home, or invest in a new one if you are looking for a particular shape.

Next, pick your plants. You can choose one large succulent or several small varieties, depending on the size of your jar or planter.

Once you have your plants picked out, gather your materials, including pebbles, sand and soil, to arrange.

To layer your terrarium, start with soil, add the sand next to help with drainage and then add more soil as the last layer for planting. For a cute final touch, add the decorative pebbles to the top.

After you’ve finished with the potting materials, it’s time to add in your plants. Once secure, lightly water the terrarium every few weeks.
