On Sept. 18, the United States lost judicial icon and fierce advocate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Affectionately referred to as RBG, Ginsburg served on the Supreme Court for 13 years and championed gender equality until her death at age 87.

Serving on countless landmark cases, Ginsburg has left an indelible mark on American history and the U.S. justice system. But there is so much more to learn from RBG, and her inspiring book, “My Own Words,” is a great place to start if you’re interested in learning more about her life and legacy.

According to the book summary, “My Own Words” is “a selection of writings and speeches by Justice Ginsburg on wide-ranging topics, including gender equality, the workways of the Supreme Court, being Jewish, law and lawyers in opera, and the value of looking beyond U.S. shores when interpreting the U.S. Constitution.”

Ginsburg herself wrote the introduction to the book and her authorized biographers, Mary Hartnett and Wendy W. Williams, give even more context to each riveting chapter.

First published in 2016, the book is unsurprisingly trending on the Amazon Charts this week, and retails on Kindle for $12.99 and as a hardcover for $18.38. But if you sign up for Audible’s free trial, you can listen to this essential book for free.

After all, when you take advantage of the service’s 30-day trial, your first audiobook of any kind is free of charge. And as always, you can cancel your membership at any time.
