You may know Rothy’s for their ridiculously popular, celebrity-loved flats. But the brand is secretly killing it in the bag category, and it’s time sustainable style lovers take note.

It seems like every time you log on to the Rothy’s site, there’s a new product offering — and that’s especially true when it comes to bags. Rothy’s first launched bags in March 2020 and released just a few core styles. Since then, the brand has doubled-down on the category, making a robust collection of styles for every occasion imaginable.

Like the brand’s shoes, Rothy’s bags are made using 100 percent recycled plastic yarn. Much of the material is actually ocean-bound marine plastic collected within 30 miles of coastlines, doing an extra dose of good for the environment. To date, Rothy’s has recycled 66,084,775 plastic water bottles in its products.

The brand also knits all its products to shape, eliminating the need to cut small pieces of fabric from larger ones to make its shoes and bags. This means there’s virtually no fabric waste created in the manufacturing process, an often unseen environmental impact of fashion production. Oh, and all the products are machine washable — even the most structured bags.
