Chopping up produce might already seem like an easy task, but it can actually be made even easier. This Cuisinart Stainless Steel Chopper cuts up fruit, veggies, cheese, nuts and more in a matter of seconds — and right now, it’s 70 percent off on Amazon.
Shop: Cuisinart Stainless Steel Chopper, $12.99 (Orig. $40)
Use it to make a salsa, prepare ingredients for a soup, cut up cheese for a charcuterie board or mince garlic or chop onions without totally crying your eyes out.
The Cuisinart chopper doesn’t only cut down chopping time, but it reduces the risk that you cut yourself. To use, just place the food you’d like to cut up under the blade on the bottom and quickly (but somewhat forcefully) press the top button to send the blade through the food. Do this as many times as you need, until the food is chopped up into the size you desire (or until you’ve gotten out all of your pent up anger).
It might sound intense, but it’s actually very easy to use. Although, I personally recommend cutting up your produce at least a little bit before using. Say you want to dice an apple; you should slice the apple into halves or fourths, then chop away. You can also move the chopper around your cutting board over all of the produce you’d like chopped, rather than chopping then switching out whatever is underneath.
If you don’t feel like getting out your cutting board and cleaning it, you can also attach the base (which comes with it) and chop. This is great for chopping small ingredients like garlic cloves or fresh herbs, or for when you’re working in a small space.
And another great feature: It’s easy to clean. You can stick it in the dishwasher!
“Still chops smoothly after almost a year of use. Comes apart easily and fits nicely in the dishwasher. Makes cooking anything that needs to be minced much less painful. I use it for garlic, tomatoes, onions, and for making breadcrumbs,” wrote one Amazon reviewer.
“This chopper is very handy to have in the kitchen for chopping a variety of food items. Great for preparing salads and omelettes!” wrote another reviewer.
Comparing it to Pampered Chef, one Amazon reviewer said: “This product works great! We had a Pampered Chef for years and it finally bit the dust. This is very sturdy and easy to use. It cleans up super fast!”
And if all else fails, one Amazon customer assured shoppers in their review that the Cuisinart Stainless Steel Chopper works in more ways than one.
“You’re going to be in a great mood all day, because you’re going be slapping your troubles away with this.”
