Pride is considered one of the most widespread celebrations of freedom recognized across the world. Seeking to uplift the lives and experiences of the members of the LGBTQIA+ community, Pride Month, which occurs annually in the month of June, is usually commemorated with massive parades and extravagantly planned events.

Due to the global pandemic that is currently still being addressed across the world, most annual Pride festivities have been canceled. However, several beauty and fashion brands have come together to create Pride-inspired products and, furthermore, support organizations that solely aim to empower and help members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

For years since the first Apple Watch launched in 2014, Apple has released a Pride-themed assortment of bands. Available at the brand’s native website as well as authorized retailers like Amazon, these limited-edition bands are still in stock and can be paired with new matching Pride watch faces.

Apple has also said that, through this effort, they are proud to support LGBTQIA+ advocacy organizations including The Trevor Project, Gender Spectrum, The National Center for Transgender Equality and more.

10 percent of all net sales from this collaboration will be donated to The Trevor Project.

Nike

Nike recently teased its BeTrue collection, designed in observance of Pride Month. The line will be made available for global purchase on June 19, 2020.

Inspired by the Pride flag, these three footwear picks are special iterations of the brand’s most popular releases: the Air Force 1, Air Max and Air Deschutz. Nike has also made an effort to recognize the people of color within the LGBTQIA+ community by including black and brown shades in the designs.

In addition to these limited sneaker releases, the brand is supporting more than 20 organizations that seek to help and uplift members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Reiterating their commitment to hearing and uplifting LGBTQIA+ voices, Converse has launched a special Pride collection for the fifth year in a row.

The line features an extensive remixing of its classic Chuck Taylors, as well as trendy accessories. All of the products include the “More Color, More Pride” flag and, like Nike, feature purposefully added hues of black and brown to represent people of color.

The “More Color, More Pride” flag was first conceptualized and popularized by social justice advocate Amber Hikes.

Converse has also outlined that it will be continuing to make contributions to the It Gets Better Project, Bagly, The Ali Forney Center and Out MetroWest.

The brand has announced that 100 percent of net proceeds from the collection with be donated to OutRight Action International, an international LGBT human rights organization dedicated to improving the lives of people who experience discrimination or abuse due to their sexual orientation, gender identity or sex characteristics.
