When Dana Jondahl’s birthday travel plans were canceled amid the global coronavirus pandemic, she recreated an entire vacation — airplane and all — right in her own yard.

Making the most of her predicament, the Minnesota native packed her bags and navigated her way through a makeshift airport, which she created in her very own home using nothing but an iPad, computer, some craft paper, cardboard, markers and, of course, a slew of costumes.

Her journey included a formal check-in, TSA pre-check, being held up at security and even waiting around in the “terminal” for her flight.

But, the icing on the cake came when Jondahl actually boarded the “plane” — a massive, 6-person pool float from Sam’s Club.

“They told me no traveling for my birthday this year,” she captioned the video, adding the hashtag #challengeaccepted.

Once aboard the flight, Jondahl recreated a safety presentation for herself while dressed as a stewardess, even down to the oxygen mask demo. She then made her way through the cabin and, with the help of some clever editing, served herself some snacks and drinks.

The traveler then cuddled up inside the float for a little nap before the plane “landed” and she was able to disembark to enjoy the destination of inevitable internet stardom.

Jondahl’s video has racked up over 655,000 views since she shared it on May 13, along with tons of comments praising her for her ingenuity.

She later took to Facebook to say she was “blown away” by the responses she received.

“Despite these crazy times, this is going to be a birthday week to remember,” she wrote. “It’s been like a second birthday today reading all the amazing kind words friends and strangers have left. I was just hoping a handful of friends may find me as funny as I find myself and the response has been insane. Thank you to everyone for making this an unforgettable week of the best viral birthday vibes I never saw coming!”

For those looking to fly away this summer, the airplane float is still available online.
