TikTok user delivers 'terrifying' PSA about sun damage: 'This is scary'

Wearing sunscreen is always important. According to Deborah S. Sarnoff, M.D., president of The Skin Cancer Foundation, “In the right winter weather conditions, you can sustain sun damage just as easily as during the summer.”

However, come summertime, wearing sunscreen is especially vital. UVB rays are strongest during the summer months — and without proper protection, you can end up with a bad sunburn, which can lead to serious complications down the line.

Still unconvinced that wearing sunscreen is important? If you need further convincing, look no further than this TikTok video created by Quinn Stallings.

In her video, Stallings warns viewers to “wear sunscreen,” lest they want to end up with sun poisoning like she did.

As you can see, Stallings’ face is red, puffy and swollen — all common symptoms of sun poisoning. According to UMPC, sun poisoning occurs when UV radiation inflames the skin, and it can lead to more serious symptoms like fainting and dehydration.

People were scared straight by Stallings’ video — and face.

“This is scary,” one person said.

“IN MY 21 YEARS OF LIVING I HAVE NEVER KNOWN WITH WAS AN ACTUAL THING. I USED TO SPEND MY LIIIFE IN THE SUN. NOW IM TERRIFIED,” another user wrote.

“I’m wearing my sun screen inside just to be safe,” a third person remarked.

Be safe out there this summer, and always remember to wear sunscreen!
