These machines work together to make the perfect potato chips

The potato chip is one of the most popular snacks in the world. In fact, the average American eats roughly four pounds of chips annually. But how many of that percentage actually know how they’re made?

Nirav, a commercial kitchen equipment manufacturer, demonstrates the process with its potato peeler and slicer equipment.

First, a worker feeds a large bowl of potatoes with skin into the potato peeling machine. The equipment spins the vegetables quickly and within seconds, they’re released into an output bin completely peeled.

Next, the peeled potatoes head into the slicer machine one by one. As a potato goes in, it emerges thinly sliced into perfect potato chip shapes. The slicer is also able to do shoestring fry cuts too.

Nirav’s potato slicer demonstration video received a whopping 1.1 million views on YouTube. It’s oddly hypnotic to watch and a surprisingly easy process if you have the right machinery.

“I can’t live without this machine. OMG, I really want this,” one YouTube user commented.

“Wow! Very amazing product,” another user wrote.

“Really nice. I want to buy this,” one person added.

No one knows where potato chips came from because they were never patented. All we do know today is that the perfect combination of fat, salt and carbs makes chips irresistible.
