What a $1 million home looks like in four different U.S. cities

So you’ve got 1 million bucks to spend on a new home. What can we say besides: location, location, location!

Depending on where you choose to move your money can get you more than you ever dreamed of or less than you’d ever imagined. In The Know took the liberal budget to four cities to check out the results.

If a glamourous lifestyle is calling to you, head to Miami. Look forward to art deco architecture, bustling nightlife and gorgeous beaches. The generous budget will score you a 1,265-square-foot condo with two bedrooms and two and a half baths. The oversized balcony overlooking the ocean will sell you on this one!

But for those who want a chiller atmosphere, head to San Francisco. A 1,057-square-foot industrial penthouse loft with one bedroom and one and a half baths await. The massive windows bring in natural light and go from the floor to the home’s 18-foot high ceilings. An open master suite and a kitchen complete with a bar are the cherries on top of this great find.

Looking for something a little artsier? Try Austin. The city has a thriving arts and music scene — and a lot more space. You’ll get a single-family home with over 4,000 square feet of space. The house with four beds, four baths and a two-story foyer has private lake access and a pool. Let’s just say, there’s plenty of room to stretch your legs and get some culture.

Maybe 4,000 square feet isn’t enough for you? This nine-bedroom house with eight baths to boot in Mountain Top, Pa. will do the trick. It’s located on a 109-acre estate and includes a separate guest home that sleeps ten. When you’re feeling bored just head to one of the property’s three ponds or its 1,800-square-foot barn. And don’t forget to park in the heated five-car garage!
