Amateur chef demonstrates how to make famous Levain cookies at home

Good news, foodies: You don’t have to travel all the way to New York or spend an insane amount of money on shipping to enjoy Levain cookies.

On May 9, TikTok user thatbitchinthekitch shared a copycat Levain cookie recipe on the platform inspired by Melissa Stadler, AKA modern_honey.

Thankfully, the recipe isn’t too complicated: It only calls for salted butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, flour, cake flour, baking soda, corn starch and chocolate chips.

To make the “absolute best chocolate chip cookies,” add 1 cup of cold salted butter, 1 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar to a bowl and mix. Once combined, add two eggs one at a time, using a mixer (or a hand mixer) to mix after each egg.

Finally, add 1 1/2 cup regular flour, 1 1/2 cup cake flour, 3/4 tsp. baking soda and 1 tsp. corn starch and mix in some chocolate chips. Bake your cookies at 410 degrees for 9 minutes and voila

In the comments, many people expressed how excited they were to try the recipe.

“They look delicious. I’m making them tonight. Thank you for sharing!” one user commented.

“Loved the recipe!” another person added. “They turned out super good! I added some vanilla to mine, I will make these again.”
