If you’re looking for a fabric face mask, Anthropologie and Old Navy have you covered — literally. Recently, both brands have started to sell fabric face masks so people can go outside and continue to comply with social distancing rules.

The CDC is continuing to recommend that people wear “face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.” Although fabric face masks will not protect you from getting the virus, the CDC explains that it can help “slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.”

On its website, Anthropologie has a range of printed reusable face masks in a slew of patterns from three different brands: Sanctuary, Amadi and Bunglo.

The Sanctuary face masks are crafted from soft, organic cotton and come with a removable filter. The reusable design can be disinfected or washed after each wear.

Amadi’s face masks do not come with a filter, but they feature an open pocket that allows for any filter of your choosing. There are gingham and floral prints available.

Lastly, the Bunglo masks are made from 400 thread count cotton that naturally wicks away moisture. The masks are double-layered and reversible with a gray-and-white pattern on the back.

Some Sanctuary styles will not ship until the first week of June, so be mindful of this when choosing which mask you want.

Old Navy has face masks available for adults and kids, with the same five-pack deal for $12.50. The kids’ masks are recommended for ages 4+ “and should not be put on children under the age of two,” in compliance with CDC recommendations.

The retailer is using its excess fabric for the creation of the masks, and in an effort to sustainably source the mask materials, Old Navy is only offering “surprise” packs. This means that shoppers cannot choose which patterns they will receive, as featured colors and fabrics will change depending on what’s available.

The three-ply, non-medical grade masks are made of 100 percent cotton poplin and are reusable after washing. The masks are available for pre-order and are set to ship on May 17.

Additionally, Old Navy is making a donation of 50,000 masks to its longtime partner Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the national non-profit organization that provides after-school programs for young people.
