If you’re a fan of flavored sparkling water — we’re looking at you, La Croix lovers — get ready for a new favorite bubbly beverage that you’re going to want to stock in your fridge ASAP.
Aside from its beautiful branding and colorful packaging that’s totally Insta-worthy, Poppi’s prebiotic sodas actually taste good and will benefit your health, too. (We’re not joking.)
It’s rare to find a soda that’s actually good for you, but Poppi is bringing a whole new meaning to “healthy sips.” Packed with prebiotics that promote good gut health thanks to 1 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar in each can, one Poppi soda only has 20 calories and 5 grams of sugar.
With a simple and natural ingredient list (you won’t find any high-fructose corn syrup here), Poppi is not only a refreshing beverage for the upcoming summer months, but it’s also made to boost immunity, help aid digestion, naturally detoxify and support glowing skin, according to its product description.
If you’re wondering how this genius soda came to be, husband-and-wife duo Allison and Stephen Ellsworth of Dallas, Texas, first came up with the idea when Allison was searching for a remedy for symptoms from a chronic health issue.
The couple first began experimenting in their kitchen, testing out different combinations of fresh fruit juice with the prebiotic powerhouse apple cider vinegar (ACV). They finally landed on a mixture that tasted delicious and also helped clear up Allison’s symptoms almost completely.
The drinks were an instant hit once the couple began selling them at a local farmer’s market in Dallas. Soon after in 2018, the two appeared on an episode of “Shark Tank” where they pitched the company, which was under different name at the time. (It was originally called Mother Beverage.)
From “Shark Tank,” the couple scored a $400,000 deal with CAVU Ventures cofounder Rohan Oza. After a recent gorgeous re-branding and name change to Poppi, the soda is now available to purchase on Amazon.
Since ACV is an ingredient that benefits the digestive system, those with digestion issues might find Poppi to be a quick, yet tasty relief. If you want to try it for yourself, you can buy multi-flavored packs of 12 cans on Amazon below, or you can buy a 12-pack of each of the seven flavors: blueberry, lime ginger, orange, peach tea, pineapple mango, raspberry rose and strawberry lemonade.
If you want to say goodbye to sugary soda for good, you can now say hello to “bubbles with benefits.”
