Saucony debuts new carbon-plated marathon shoe that promises to 'make running fast feel easier'

If you’ve set a goal of running a half or full marathon soon, or simply looking to add long-distance jogs to your daily routine, it’s be wise to invest in some new trainers. Specifically designed for fast racers in mind, performance lifestyle brand Saucony debuted the highly-anticipated Endorphin Pro sneaker Tuesday. Available for pre-order, the Endorphin Pro ($200) officially drops June 1 at retailers nationwide.

“The Endorphin Pro got here even faster than we thought,” Shawn Hoy, Saucony’s vice president of global product said. “Our initial shipment of the Pro arrived earlier than expected and we’re excited to reward our biggest fans with this first-in-line opportunity to experience the propulsive feel-good ride that’s unique to Saucony. The Pro is the fastest shoe we’ve ever created. We engineered it based on input from elite runners to everyday runners. Simply put, the Endorphin Pro was made for smashing personal bests and we hope everyone enjoys running in them.”

Saucony is also introducing their revolutionary SpeedRoll technology in the shoe, intended to propel the runner forward with the feeling of continuous momentum. Therefore, you’re running faster, not harder. The angle of the forefoot ramp encourages you to achieve a more forward hip position during propulsion, allowing for a more powerful running stride and new personal record.

Additional features include ultralight, springy PWRRUN PB cushioning and their signature s-curve carbon fiber plate for powerful transitions. Per the Pennsylvania-based company, cushioning is 40% lighter than Saucony’s PWRRUN+ (which is used in the popular Triumph sneakers) while offering 88% energy return. PWRRUNPB is also more flexible and durable.

The Endorphin Pro earned the seal of approval from trained athletes, too. Saucony athlete Molly Seidel raced in the Endorphin Pro, which she played a role in developing, for the 2020 U.S. Women’s Olympic Marathon Trials. In what was her marathon debut, Seidel placed second, securing a position on Team USA for next year’s Summer Games.

“Thank you, Saucony, for putting me in the greatest pair of shoes a marathoner could ask for,” Seidel exclaimed after her impressive showing.
