How does it work? It’s designed to remove all excess oil, dirt and product buildup without over-cleaning your hair. Simply put, “it leaves what should stay and removes what needs to be washed away,” as stated in the product description.
And while New Wash may replace your shampoo, it might also serve as a substitute for your conditioner as well. In fact, the company claims you won’t need to use a conditioner since the New Wash also detangles hair.
Made for every hair type, this innovative hair wash is designed to help you go longer in between washes and save you from spending on excess products. Apparently, you only need three to four bottles a year, which equates to 82 days in between purchases. And though it’s a bit expensive, its multi-functionality makes the price easier to swallow.
Imagining a world where you don’t wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner may give you pause, but many shoppers have given the New Wash high remarks. In fact, it has over 6,000 reviews on the company’s website and a four-star rating.
One buyer said that New Wash helped their hair stay “cleaner longer” and that it didn’t take long to get used to using.
“I didn’t have a long transition period at all going from using shampoo and conditioner to hairstory,” they wrote. “I also thought I would miss having lots of suds but I didn’t- It left my hair silky when wet so it was similar to using conditioner but my hair stays cleaner longer.”
Another shopper mentioned how although they were skeptical at first, they found that “after the first wash my hair was clean, light, soft and voluminous, especially at the root.”
At the same time, not all shoppers were impressed. One reviewer with “thick hair” mentioned that it wasn’t “practical” for their hair type.
They explained: “This may be the wash for you if you don’t have much hair, your hair is thin, or you have a very oil free scalp. Sadly for me, it will go down in an expensive experiment gone wrong.”
