“Clean” skincare products have a ride-or-die following, with major retailers like Sephora even creating a dedicated section on its website to house these picks.
So, what does “clean” mean, exactly? According to Sephora, this is a classification of skincare and beauty picks all formulated without ingredients that are deemed “harmful” to the skin — think parabens, sulfates, mineral oils and fragrances.
With well-known skincare brands like Drunk Elephant, Farmacy and Biossance all receiving Sephora’s “clean” stamp of approval, it’s become clear that there’s an insane demand for these types of products. However, one particular roadblock that many shoppers encounter when attempting to purchase these usually plant-based picks is the steep price tag that often accompanies them.
With some of the most popular products ranging in price from $40 to $450, it’s understandable why this hunt for clean beauty and skincare finds can be daunting. Luckily, a new independent brand called Naturium has emerged on the scene and is offering a 14-product range that comprises of 100 percent plant-based formulas — and each product retails for $25 or less!
Described to boast “clean, effective and biocompatible formulas,” this sleek brand features a line of products that include everything from serum cocktails (an all-in-one blend of vitamin C, retinol, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and salicylic acid) to skincare staples.
With an ethos in mind that “skincare is self care,” Naturium has formulated a line of products that are made from natural botanicals, feature active ingredients, are cruelty-free, vegan, fragrance-free, non-toxic, pH balanced and dermatologist tested.
As outlined on Naturium’s discover page, all of the products included in the line are plant-sourced and scientist-developed.
“Our mission is to create safe, clinically-effective, biocompatible products that deliver visible results,” the brand’s statement reads. “We use cutting-edge technology to harness the healing powers of ingredients found in nature.”
Adding an extra layer of transparency, the brand also features an extensive “Ingredient Library” on its website, so those who use its products are able to better decipher what is best for their respective skin type.
